Once a year, probably around February I would guess, I am forced to make this admission to my closest friends and family. Or to my closest friends, family, ex-co-workers, current co-workers, friends of friends, people I barely know, via Facebook. I feel a huge weight lifted off my shoulders every time I say it, so I will now admit this here, for all of our faithful followers.
I don’t like Girl Scout cookies.
Phew. There. I said it. Hopefully you are all still reading and didn’t immediately throw your computer/iPad/smart phone in anger and disgust. Don’t do that. That stuff’s expensive.
I just don’t get it. They’re not even that good! They’re sort of small. And dry. And expensive! Those things are like $19 a cookie. I would so much rather have a pack of Mega-Stuffed Oreos than a box of any flavor of Girl Scout cookies. Have we discussed Mega-Stuffed Oreos? They’re like Double-Stuffeds on steroids. They are insanely amazing. I bought some this weekend and cannot stop eating them. It’s a miracle I don’t eat the entire pack in one day.
On the other hand, I have an unopened box of Samoas and an unopened box of Thin Mints that have been in my pantry since February. I couldn’t give two craps about those. But every year I am forced to buy them because some sweet little girl in a green uniform comes by the house and I can’t say no. Maybe next year I’ll see if I can just pay them to go to the store to get me Oreos. I’d pay a hefty sum for that delivery service.
So there it is. All out there for the world to read. I hope we’re still friends. If you are one of these people:
Can you tell me what it is? What makes them so crazy good to you? I think it’s that whole “you can’t always get what you want” thing. I bet if they were available year-round people wouldn’t care as much.
Or maybe they would. But I still won’t care at all. Sorry. 😦

I feel the exact same way. Those things are nasty.
